Hello!

Yesterday I got locally a set of 10 NiMH batteries (tab type) and performed
the replacement on my Duo 230 battery case. I took lots of pictures of all
the procedure (someday I will document that in my upcoming Mac WEB pages)

Bad thing is that I was unable to get more than 1500 mAh batteries. Yes, I
know there are 2100+ mAh in other countries. But here in Spain we are in
the Jurassic Era battery wise, trust me. And I went to an specialist
battery distributor!. Incredible :-(

So my battery will not last much more than the original (by the way, a Type
I). But as the battery was completely dead and was my only Duo battery, I
have got a great improvement.

For next rebuilts I will get larger capacity batteries, buying them by mail
if necessary.

Once I put the rebuilt unit, my 230 reported two marks in the battery
charge scale. I left it charging for about one and a half hours and it
reached top. I will use the computer today to see how much does it last
(although I know some cycles are required to reach maximum capacity, it
will be an indication)

On the other hand I did some experimenting with the also dead PRAM
battery... more in a sepparate message!

Regards,

JOSE
