I still use it for registering all online purchases (hence it's also a major spamcatcher). CIM was my first ISP as a newbie and, if it hadn't for Bill Fox's excellent forum instructions, I believe I'd never have got online! Bill's biggest tip back then was to use a custom connect script via FreePPP. Otherwise, one had to use CIM, but then getting out to the real web was pretty close to impossible. I still have the instruction for this somewhere if you need it. My time outs are set for 60 sec.
2.4.2 is a waste of time. 2.4.4 still works for email but nothing else. You'll simply be directed to upgrade pages if you try. Also, there's a way to use Claris Emailer with CIM 2.4.4 using software (still available online at ftp sites) called Black Night Connection Set (or something like that). It has really come in handy for me now and then. I still have the 2 floppies for GV 3.0.2. Lemme know if this would work for ya. I think they were for the PB5300c, so they might.
