Hi - my 2400 (stock) developed GLOD a week ago while being on battery power, and I need listers-advice please.
I read Sydney's article on what to do in such case, was able to reset the 2400 twice for a short time (a few minutes first, then for about 30 min, running Norton, rebuilding DT, resetting PRAM and Power manager), but in the end it showed GLOD again. I brought the machine to a good local shop, they found and installed a new PRAM battery but told me just now that it still has GLOD and is in need of a new motherboard from Apple. I told them to hold off sending it in for a day or so. The options I can think of in my current state of shock are: - sending it to Apple, which will set me back at least $330 (ouch!) - trying to sell it unrepaired - finding a used board (are there any out there?) Are there any other options I'm missing? And what's your advice I should do? Thank you - Tobias Kaiser ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
