I saw a bunch of GLOD problems on list. No time these days BUT...
IMO most GLODs are caused by faulty daughter CPU cards. These cause various symptoms like clicks, alternately N(no)LOD, partial boots, freezes, running for a while, etc. If it ever powers up it's not the I/O board, period. Some years back I bought a box of dismantled 2400s (everything down to the last screw) because of bad I/O boards, put it all together, tested everything--and it all worked. Non-overclocked MBs also seem not to fail, unless SCSI or the power jack are mishandled. It's the CPU that puts out by far the most heat and fails by far the most often. Apple would likely replace an MB together with a CPU as an assembly, even if it's a CPU. They have no time to test everything 2-3x. The 320 Interware can be resoldered by DT&T which should then fix it. ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables.
