You have all been helpful in the last year for me, but it is time to
sell...
This PowerBook is in excellent condition and has been in daily use for
about a year with me as a grading, typing, and browsing machine. Most
of that use was at home. It has 80 megs of RAM installed, and a 1.3 gb
HD. The screen is bright with no dead pixels that I can see. This
little beauty also weighs in at a really light 5 pounds...It barely
hogs up the lap and is extremely easy to tote around to and from work.
I am selling this 'book to offset the cost of a new iBook. I really
would love to hold onto it forever, but I need let her go. A Farallon
10 base T PC card will also go into the box to let you get on the web.
A driver disk and dongle will be included. I will also include an
original rectangular power adapter to go with the 2400c. The keyboard
is nice and tight. The only trouble with her is that the trackpad
button is cranky. I get around this by setting up the system software
to use the pad for clicking rather than the button. The button does
work, if one is patient. A new processor card was purchased from DT&T
in Fremont, CA early on in my ownership and have had no troubles at all
since. This 'book will run 8.6 or 9.1 with no problems. I have also
tried out Linux on an external HD. That ran nicely too. I will place
a clean install of 9.1 on the HD prior to shipping. Please give her a
good home. It will make a fine machine for a student or someone
looking for a light, functional PowerBook. It would make an EXCELLENT
first PowerBook for anyone looking for a budget switch.
Looking for $400 but would entertain like offers. In a week, she goes
to eBay...
