Actually iTunes 2 requires it, and the iPod requires iTunes 2.From what I understand, most of the benefit in 9.2.x is either for recent hardware or Classic, so I don't think there's much point. I can't think of any software offhand that requires it versus 9.1.
I had to upgrade my TiBook to 9.2 for that reason -- but I'd agree that in general I see little point in the upgrade for the 2400.
Of course, I was complaining when I had to upgrade to system 6 ;)
