Hi -- this is just a little off from a 2400... but

i recently installed 16mb and 24mb modules into a pb1400... the memory
modules work well indepentantly of each other.. however, when both are
installed, only the 24mb one registers -- and there is a message at boot
stating that there was a problem with the built-in memory test - contact a
system administrator... weird...

furthermore, when i boot the machine into linux - it only registers 40mb
(8Mb on mobo, 8Mb on Apple RAM upgrade, 24Mb RAM module, 16Mb RAM module)

supposedly both modules support stacking... so there should not be a
problem... but...

anyone have any ideas?

as always, thanks in advance.
