So now I have two Duos with the 250 screen (one an original and one PowerPC upgrade (AKA 2300 base). Both showing the symptoms of gradual darkening from the corners and the viewing of the image through a porthole - sort of a visual 'Cone of Silence'. I have read a lot of the posts with all the theories as to why it happens - and no one appears to have a fix. A great pity as the 250/2300 is a great portable machine. I guess I'll have to look for a 270/280 screen to keep my portable hopes alive. Doug - in mourning.
No one has come up with a way to fix the Creeping Corners syndrome. A 270c/280c screen on Ebay should be fairly cheap.
