A clean desktop may be overrated anyway?

When I'm using 8.6, I can reset the icons with "Desktop Resetter" but it won't work with 7.6.1. Version Tracker and Tucows seem to think a utility called "Desktop Magician" would solve my problem but it's no longer being released. Anyone know where I could get it or suggest a similar utility?
