I used a very small, flat blade screwdriver to gently
pry the top case forward on the right front to release
the four catches between the vertical groove in the
plastic and the right end of the case. The other catch
is inside the battery compartment. Release that one
first, then do the four on the right.

With the hinge covers off, it's not too difficult to
remove the top case but be very careful of the power
button. You do not want to break off the rod that
goes down through the frame to the power switch!
