Dear Gurus,
        I've a 2400/240/112/40GB running 7.6.1,8.6 and 9.1. It is cardbus
enabled running a CBFW2 Ratoc firewire card.
        ......

Do I have a bad card? Has anybody else noticed drifting Ratoc
extensions? Why won't my 8.6 pick up mp3's from my 9.1 iMac?
                                        Donald McCaig

Hi Donald,

I use a Ratoc card with 8.6 with no problems, but I had to install the Firewire 9.1 drivers by hand on top of MacOS 8.6 so that the computer could recognize all my peripherals. Otherwise my EZQuest burner and such refused to come up. As for drifting extensions I really have no idea as I use 8.6 exclusively on my 2400c. The only Firewire problem I had was that the system would freeze when doing large data transfers. I tried a new Ratoc card and the problem was gone. Therefore MCE swapped the malfunctioning card and all has been great ever since.
