I keep Catfinder catalogs of all my HDs and removeable disks on all my computers, so I know about what files I have even if I am on the road. Findit (part of IomegaWare, at least earlier versions) works nicely, too. I believe the automatic cataloging upon shutdown or disk eject will not work under OS9, but one can just catalog manually.
