If you are lucky you might get that with a new battery until time takes over, a little thing called entrophy. I think you might get a few good runs for a while but if you use the machine intensely this will decrease the life. I do a lot of math calculations on my machines for some of the research I have done in the past, I have to use a desktop and hope for no power surges to keep from losing a lot of work, zip disks are great! Saved me more times I can count.

I don't see why 10 hours is not possible; I have owned a VAIO PCG-U1 which pulled
about 4.5 hours
out of the normal battery and 8-9 out of the extended. The extended was no bigger than
a paperback
book and about 1" thick. Of course, the CPU was designed for portables(it was a
Crusoe) and
Apple's CPUs really aren't set up like that.

Of course, Apple has yet to design a battery hog like a Pentium 4 (full version)
housed in a
laptop..... which gets you about 45 minutes of usage.

It would be possible but you are dreaming if you want 10 hours out of laptop batteries, might
as well use the AC adapter or a car lighter adapter. Not even new laptops can go 10 hours on >>a charge.
