Make sure serial port monitor is on at startup. It should have installed with the palm desktop

Yep, it's loaded. The problem is it only sees the internal modem port not the combo serial port. Same for Z-Term, although AppleTalk sees the combo port only and not the internal modem.
I have installed a PowerPort modem that I found when I was swapping parts last so maybe I need to remove that and install the standard Duo internal modem.
Thanks for the double checking. :) Even us techies can miss the simplest of things at times. :S
