You may be able to have a residential line installed at your office (shouldn't be to much of a problem as it would not be listed in the business sections) and have the DSL installed. If it's your business not much of a problem, if it's someone else's ????? Business is considered high use and subsequently the higher costs. I have basically a service business and do not sell goods over the phone nor do I have a store front, subsequently I utilize residential lines. Your DSL costs are inexpensive compared to the Left Coast. At least in my area (northern calif). I'm on pair-gain and dial-up and would love to have DSL but I am in the country (pair-gain) and am attempting to get a copper pair to aide in getting a little more speed. Cable just came to us and it's $50 month. Pretty steep for a casual user. I understand the problem of broadband and price.
Date: Thu, 01 Apr 2004 08:48:32 -0500 Subject: [Duo2400] OT: Broadband pricing in Fort Lauderdale From: Tobias <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> I'm pulling my hair about two-tiered pricing: locally, residential cable or DSL is $30, but if I want it in my office it's a minimum of $90 for the exact same service (DSL, cable not available). Discounts are only possible if you sell every of your next three newborns into slavery and committ to 99-year servicecontracts. What's up with that? And does anyone local know about a better alternative to FDN and BellSouth (Earthlink not available in my office)? Thanks, -tobias. ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
