Any chance that any of the keys, power button or mouse clicker are 
being held down by a foreign object? Seem to recall a similar 
behaviour after reassembling a 2300c where the mouse clicker was held 
down by the improperly reassembled case....Might want to disconnect 
keyboard and mouse and see if that helps. Careful with the ribbons.

Click of death DuoDocks are easy to fix and could also be to blame 
for this situation.

Try booting without battery. That might be drawing enough current to 
sink a marginal DuoDock power supply...
