The cable in the Duo 2300 IDE drive is for that unit only....as with the great majority of laptops, all components are either proprietary or only swap within a small range of units.  I've had two PeeCee laptops of the same make and model number with different internal components (thanks a lot, Dell....) which prevented easy troubleshooting.
 
I'll dig thru the junquebox when I get time and see what I have kicking around.
