I have a 270c that boots great and works like a charm, until you unplug
it. I think I had a faulty battery, but I have found a new one that
seems to work. The battery was reporting that it was not full and has
been charged and seems to hold a charge. After about 1 minute of being
unplugged the computer reports the battery is about dead. It then tells
me to plug or shut down. Here is the weird part: The battery icon in the
upper right reports full.
Any ideas on what is causing this.

The battery is wonky. You need to recondition the battery using the
utility that is hopefully on your hard drive.
