Another problem occured just recently: as my 2400 is approaching its 10th birthday, the rubber feet's consistency changed into a gooey chewing-gum-like lump that got stuck on every surface I put the laptop on. I finally decided to scrape them out of their cavities. Working for a computer manufacturer in Taiwan, I am planning to ask one of our suppliers to produce 20 (minimum amount) "samples" that I want to use to replace the feet. If anyone in the list faces the same problem, please e-mail me off-list. As I won't have to pay for these samples and only need four, I would be happy to mail the remaining 16 to people in need...
