I've recently acquired a Duo 250, which is identical to the Duo 230
except for the ACTIVE Matrix screen, which is simply gorgeous and better
than a palm pilot.

It had boiled down to decision netting a palm pilot for loads of cash or
a Duo 250 for a swap of equivalent value. Since I already have the
stuff, I opted for a Duo 250 and haven't regretted it since.

You might want to note that I have upgrade the Keybaord to a revision F
(cost about $ 50.00)

It is simply awesome given that I can run claris organizer, appleworks,
and outlook express on it.

YOU WILL NEED AT LEAST 12 MB OF RAM, AND 32 MB IS BETTER.

Go for the internal modem. On the right side of the duo is a little
knowckout panel. That is for the modem. Go for the Global Village
PowerPort ofr Duo, which is avilable in surplus shops for $ 29 - 59. It
is far better than the Apple Express modem.

It is really easy to COMPLETELY take apart a powerbook DUO, ONCE YOU GET
TH HANG OF IT.

I run 7.6.1 on my Duo and it is excellent.

Best solution is system level software called DAVE:
http:/www.thursby.com which makes your mac look like a PC to the network
or http://www.mochasoft.de which has an APPLICATION that does the same
thing.
