With all respect, I disagree Wayne. You can get nice anti-aliased edges
from lots of paint programs, regardless of the output resolution. Drawing
gives you nice clean edges, that's true, but you can't do nice fades and
transparencies or have a "painterly" look to your work with vector based
art. Vector programs are primarily for illustration and raster programs are
for painting. It's like comparing the drawings of a comic book or cartoon
strip to the soft edges of a photograph or work done with actual paint.
