Hey, I guess that long dumb message I just posted was totally unnescessary because I just figured out what was wrong. The little switch that the display triggers when you shut the laptop was stuck down. I just pulled it up and now it starts up fine (-: Unfortunately, in trying to fix the trackball I only made it worse, now it doesn't work at all.
