At first I thought it >was the backup battery, but when I removed the backup battery and tested >it, it was in great shape. Interesting - I often did this with my Duo 2300c when I still owned it. I had not tried it with my 2400, as I only have one battery. So, this morning, I decided to try what Tim suggested, just for the sake of obtaining data (or something like that). Unplugged the AC, put the machine to sleep, and pulled the battery. I counted sixty flashes of the green LED, and then put the battery back in. It awoke from sleep with no problem. Conclusion: the Vimage 320/1M upgrade does not prevent one from sleep-swapping batteries on the 2400, at least with backside cache off - I have mine set to turn the cache off automatically whenever I run from battery, and turn it back on when plugged in to the AC.
