Tom,

The "About this Computer" memory reading is for "Largest available
block" and is why Jay said the problem is fragmentation. The rest of the
available memory is in small (fragmented) chunks...

p.s. I hate to say it again, but I have to: PLEASE look at your message
before you send it to the list! The quoting it still WAY out of hand on
a lot of posts. I figure some people must not even know they have
automatic quoting turned on in their email program. So again, just quote
the relevant section(s) and delete the rest (ESPECIALLY the long
