The growling sound doesn't start until I put a floppy in and won't stop until I power off, which I have to do anyway as all the drive icons have disapeared and the system froze when the noise started. . .

So, if this is a dead floppy, considering it's cost, can it be repaired and if so where? Is there any hope that it's system software related?

Or should I just get used to dragging my zip drive around?

TIA

John
