Well, a short circuit can happen, and the result of one could range from
nothing bad happening at all to total death (it depends on what gets
shorted together).  I would recommend having somebody open it up and
tighten up the screw.

Or do it yourself -- it's not as hard as it's sometimes made out to be.  Go
slow and careful and you should be fine.  The Mac2400 page (
http://www.sineware.com/mac2400 ) at least used to have a big QuickTime
video demonstrating the take-apart procedure, and probably still does.

My helpful tip is to be very careful handling the flat flex cables -- they
are probably the most easily damaged part in the machine.
