Is it OK to put Zip disks (or other magnetic media) on or near an external
CD ROM drive? I'm worried about any magnetic field created by a spinning CD
drive -- if noise and vibration are any indication, the drive works up quite
alot of energy. I'm especially concerned because the Zip disks are my
backups.

While this may not be a pure PowerBook issue, my guess is that more PB users
use external CD ROM drives than DT users.

thanks,
glenn
