Yes, you do. You need this with or without the GV software. You should
install the Express Modem software that comes in the Apple Extras folder
(I think, but it's somewhere) on the Mac OS 7.6 or OS 8 disk. If you have
neither, then you can download the Express modem software from Apple.
Actually, the modem control panel may not have show up until OS 7.6, but
it is now a standard part of the system software and installed with ot
without Apple's specialized modem software. It may not work with OS 7.5
and is probably only installed by Apple's Express modem software for that
system version. Apple's modem software gives you the option to install for
the express modem or other modem.
