Actually, if I remember correctly, the reason this thread got started was
more about protecting the 2400 from overheating and less about lap
discomfort (which goes to show you the devotion this group has towards its
laptops!). I for one am going to take your advice and take my pants off
every time I use my laptop (hey, any good excuse ...)! The way I see it, it
will also help develop superior mind/body control much like the far Eastern
cultures who can walk over a bed of hot coals with no pain or blistering on
their feet! Imagine one day the shock of a crowd in New Delhi as I sit at
the center, my pants off, with a raging 700MHz Pentium III laptop sitting
for hours on my lap, all the while grinning painlessly!
