Hi all! Remember me? I am Corina, the one whose 2400 wouldn't start up a few weeks ago and then freaked out when I thought DT&T wanted to replace my motherboard. Well, I FINALLY got my Mac back from the local mac guy, and he fixed it!! At least he seems to have. he replaced the PRAM battery, and also found (suprise!) a screw rolling around in the inside that belonged on the daughtercard. Hopefully this is all the hardware fixing my little Mac needed, but if not I will ship it off to DT&T. i'm not sure if I already mentioned this, but the reason i finally decided to let the local shop try to fix my mac is that when i asked they said they had worked on 2400s before. Well, it turns out that they hadn't! the guy who answered my question is not the guy who does the work. So, for anyone investigating local options, make sure you speak to the TECHNICIAN, and not anyone else! they will remember a 2400 if the have opened one before. ;-) Oh, and the best news of all is that it was only $75 to fix. Input from other listmembers was invaluable, since I wrote down all of the fixes other people with dead 2400s had had success with. The tech dude really appreciated that, since it backed up his theory of a bad pram battery. Take care, all! Corina -- ~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~-~ Like to read?
