Hi Guenter,
I have had the same troubles in Germany with mine and my brothers 2400. I
sent mine to DT&T and got a new logic board, paid 295$ new LB + 30$ labor
+ 75$ shipping plus 100$ shipping to USA plus 60$ import tax (=1.100 DM).
my brother had same symptoms, I sent in the logic board - well, it was
ok. now I am awaiting it back for 2 weeks now - no one at DT&T is
answering my mails so I dont know where my logic board is at right now.
But it should be the cpu that is defective. so my brother will get a G3!
lucky him. It looked like DT&T would be very reliable, but I am a bit
confused that they do not answer me and do not send back my LB. hope this
will get ok some day.
In short: It was hardware trouble that could not be repaired in Germany.
They simply do not get these service parts. I thought it was the I/O
board burt it wasnt. it is more likely the LB or the cpu.
Call DT&T (www.dttservice.com) and ask them what to do.
I wish you luck. Feel free to ask if you like.
