Peter, FWIW, my PB 2400/180/80MB/1.3GB continues to top out at around 175F
(per Jeremy's temp module) with the lid open, in a Newer BookEndz, running
OS 8.6 and the modem 90% of the time. I've yet to suffer a thermal
shutdown...though closing the lid will probably do it. ;-)

>From what I remember this is definitely on the high side of normal for most
PB 2400's, but apparently still in range.

The environmental operating range as provided in the PB 2400 Data Sheet of
11-97 provides the following:

Operating Range: 50F-95F (external room temp....)
Storage Range: -13F-140F
Relative Humidity: 20% to 90% decreasing
Operating Temperature: 0-10,000 Ft....don't open a window in a 737
Maximum Storage Altitude: 20,000 ft.

A thermal shut-off level is not provided.
