thanks for everyone's help with the pull apart issue... i actually didnt
think to remove the clutch covers, so that was my problem... i guess i pay
for that by needing a new bottom case now :-(   the other duos all had
broken cases to begin with, and were easy to open w/o removing the clutch
covers
Now i have one more question
on one of my 230's, the HD will not spin up at all... but when the HD and
ribbon is put in a good 230, the HD works fine, so i know it is an issue
with the duo, not the HD or cable
visual inspection gives me no clues
i could replace the M/B, but i am hoping to salvage as many parts as i can,
and i'd like to , if possible, fix this problem

any help appreciated
