The Ositech (www.ositech.com) 7 of Diamonds card is a 10/100 PCMCIA
(not CardBus) card which is supposed to have MacOS drivers. The Mac
drivers aren't included in the box however. I haven't done this
myself, but apparently once you buy one, you send email requesting
the Mac drivers to their tech support address along with your card's
serial number, and they will send them to you as an email attachment.
10/100 PCMCIA cards have a reputation for performing poorly, and this
one is no exception. Ositech's own web page on the 7 of Diamonds
shows it achieving 15 Mbps throughput, far short of the theoretical
100 Mbps (but better than a couple of competitors' 10/100 PCMCIA
cards of course). For comparison, CardBus or PCI 10/100 cards (same
thing really; CardBus is a form of PCI) can usually sustain around 90
Mbps. 15 is only about twice as fast as the Farallon 10Base-T PCMCIA
card I'm using on my 2400. If Ositech didn't spend much time
optimizing the Mac driver, as is often the case, Mac performance may
be worse.
