Actuallly the meltimg point of magnesium is 650C, about as hot as my 2400 seems to
get when running from line power.
The next most heavy element is aluminum with a melting point of 660C.
My dad has a most remarkable six foot magnesium ladder he bought at Sears on the 60's.
It is very sturdy yet it weighs nothing. You can easily pick it up with a finger.
