Using a 2400 with a tdk 56 k modem I get an unusual and occasional (but often enough to prompt this query) problem. After I've been online for a session, log off the modem (Free PPP is my connect), and do some other computing various sorts), and then log back on I get a connect according too PPP but obviously not an actual web link because i cannot send or receive email or browse. Repeated attempts to connect do not work until I do a restart of the machine. Then I connect first time, every time.
