>I just checked the Apple TIL and found that Battery Recondition 1.3 will >work with 8.1. BR 1.3 was part of the System 7.5 install, so if you have >that around you can get 1.3 off it. But you need to trash your Battery >Recondition prefs before you run it.jj > >I ran it on my 280 with a Type 3 battery and it seems to be doing fine. >I'll have to wait a bit for the battery to charge up to really be sure all >is well. But so far so good. As David said, 8.5 fixes it and you don't need >to go back to BR 1.3 if you're using 8.5. This isn't quite what I found. The version that comes with System 7.5 is numbered 1.2, and it did work for this Duo 280 w/8.1. It quits ungracefully after draining the battery. Version 1.1 comes with the Battery Tools 2.0 disk (which you can download), and also seems to work fine (exiting with a success message). 1.3 comes with System 7.6, and didn't work for me. This was with a Type 1 and a (trashed) Type 2. -- Marc Sira | [EMAIL PROTECTED] "If you can't play with words, what good are they?" ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
