weighs more than a duo. bigger footprint than duo.

for ~ $70 U.S., you can have two serial ports in a compact USB to serial
adaptor, slower than otherwise, but functional. serial adaptor drives most
everything, except laser printer (which may be used via ethernet, depending
on printer). new USB InkJets are probably the cost-effective and efficient
solution.

You can write them on the DVD or CD drive, I believe. You can do anything
on SCSI chain, almost.

O.S. 9 [and/or the Lombard] may not allow booting from external drive with
system 7.1. Not sure if the cut-off is 7.5.* or 8.*.

So, difficult to network Lombard and Duo, without upgrading Duo software.
Similarly, unable to boot from anything in SCSI chain with 7.1. O.S.

up to 21 inch color [at least], according o O'Grady's Lombard FAQ

yes. It does not say "Global Village" however. :-(
Software is FaxStf. [Has nyone tried to use global Village FAXModem
software with lombard? Otherwise, how do you read/retrieve archived copies
of FAXes sent via Global Vill?]

Look at Apple for "Powerbook G3 Series Read Me" for some of the odd
configurations you may need. Some odd things are driven by 9.0.
