Since i bounce between 4 locations in 3 area codes with 3 different
dialup regimes, the labels on FreePPP Setup's "Location" and "Account"
buttons are getting worn off. Is there a good way to associate these
settings with a Location Manager configuration so I don't have to
remember to click on 'em? I'd dearly love for FreePPP's Setup to be
Location-Manager aware.
It'd also be nice if the s/w would connect on the first try -- two of
my dialup locations have some flavor of h/w or s/w that causes the
first dialup after a re-boot to fail with an 'authentication' error.
(Subsequent dialups, even after sleep, proceed w/o a hitch.) I've tried
the script on the 2400 page; it didn't improve things a whit.
Finally, I'm occasionally watching FreePPP setup only open after a
10-second lag. The frame comes right up, but it takes that time to draw
the content. Who knows what genius change I made to my setup while
migrating to OS9 and all these different locations.
Anybody have suggestions? Is FreePPP worth keeping?
TIA, Walt.
