I have a CD-R burner in my PC and a SCSI standalone writer hooked to my
StarMax machine. The Mac writer works under Toast and is almost 100%
guaranteed. The PC (Philips) sometimes burns coasters and reports them as
error-free so you need to physically load the CD and check if it is OK. I
backup everything on CD-RW disks now. After my server crashed and the whole
site had to be restored from bits loss of data became a very real
experience.

I have had my Duo for 2 days so there is nothing to backup yet. I hooked it
up to my StarMax via AppleTalk so making a CD-R copy of its hard drive will
be easy. With the PC system it is different as there is no direct way to
connect your Duo to it. Here's one option: sometimes I use my SCSI Zip drive
to transfer files between the Mac and PC. Your PC must have a SCSI card of
course, and your Duo must have a dock.

Thanks,

Igor
