False alam. The ethernet card is communicating with my hub at the moment to my surprise. But it still won't connect to my desktop, also connected to the hub.
As I reflect, I've never really been able to consistantly use ethernet on my 2400. Is this a known weakness or should I stop crashing my system daily and rebuild it.
As far as the smell, my G3 is about due to burn up if history is any guide. My screen is flickering as I type this and I'm having the usual hard to wake problems.
Time to backup. Now if only my ethernet worked. . . ; -(
BTW: Glad the PC card didn't toast, guess I'll keep it out when I'm not using it. Cheap 10BaseT PC cards are getting hard to find. ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net! A listserv for users and fans of Mac subportables. FAQ at
