I really can't speak for others, but I have a 230 with 12 megs of ram, and
a 240 hd. I use my Duo for simple things, and don't use it for internet.
I'm running 7.6.1. My system folder is all of 33 megs, and my system heap
on startup is about 4300. I only have enough of Open Transport installed to
run AppleTalk, but I do have the Appearance Manager installed. I also have
Ram Doubler running. With this setup, I can run Accordance (Bible Study
software), Claris Works and several other legacy programs at the same time.
I've bumped up the ram for all applications, due to the fact I tend to work
on large files. :-) If you would like more specifics on what extensions I
have installed, etc, please feel free to write me off list, and I'll
answer.

If you need to load a lot of extensions, then you may want to consider an
older system, but if your needs are simple like mine, then you might be
happy with 7.6.1
