In a fit of desperation, I tried this, and it didn't work.

Interestingly, I got hold of a British telecom adapter, which has an RH11
output, but a cable with a funky plug on the end. I tried an American RJ11
in it, and it didn't work. Even after switching the wires around. If
somebody knows the pin-outs of a British/vs American, could you post them
here? I certainly could use it.
