The card has a dongle that connects it to a standard ethernet cable (right?)

if yes, those ethernet cables are widely available in any computer store or
supply catalog.
they have coupling ends that look like big phone jacks (they are called RJ45)
they cables are commonly called patch cords. You should be able to get as
short one for about $US10

just unlpug the dongle from the RJ45 and take it with you.

if you're looking for an extra dongle, you might try ebay or, of course,
Farallon, but you've tried that.....
