Hi everyone-

My 2400 froze and won't boot up - pressing either the power switch in
back or the reset key on the keyboard causes the hard drive to start
spinning, but nothing else happens. I got to this state after the
system froze, the keyboard wouldn't respond, and the computer had to
be shut down using the power switch in back.

A repair shop has verified that it's not the processor or the
motherboard, and believes that the I/O card is fine. It doesn't seem
to be the hard drive, since it won't boot from a CD either. It's not
just that the monitor isn't working, I don't think, because it
doesn't chime when turned on and I don't hear the clicking that comes
with the system starting up. It's also the same with the battery in
or out.

Have any of you had this problem before? Does anyone have a guess
what this might be?

Thanks!

Alex
