This is a Duo of which you speak I assume? If so, the feet removal process is really quite a simple one. And considering your bedside manner, you should remove them quickly before someone gets hurt, or they break off, which is the more likely scenario. Unfortunately, the Duo feet are attached to the CPU stiffener in a rather weak fashion and have a tendency to break off, requiring a rather extensive repair. Anyway, just take a screwdriver (no not the drink -- well you said you were a college student) and pry the caps with the icons on them off. Then unscrew the underlying screws and off they come. You can even do all of this screwing in bed, it's so easy! Good luck ... and no more poking in bed!
