Guys, Get a zip lock and a torx and take the feet off, put them in the zip lock and put them in a safe place. You can always put them back on later. I've broken one or two of these things and I got tired of replacing them. I have done this on all my duo's. It may not be as cosmetically appealing, but it's sure allot more convenient. It's not necessary to have them on because they provide no support to the case, And I've never had a problem with heat ether. ----- Original Message ----- From: Marc Sira <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: Multiple recipients of DuoList <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, March 26, 2000 11:54 AM Subject: [Duo] Bipeds >I like to use my laptop in my lap (what a concept, huh?), so the feet are >pretty useless in that case. How?? I'm not sure yet... You don't actually need to amputate. I had the same problem when using my Duo 2300c (ne 270c) on my lap, and found I could solve it by removing the top half-inch of outer insulation from the two-wire phone cord just below the modular plug, using a sharp knife. You can then bend the cord down under the foot and stay connected while it's closed. The inner insulation is enough to protect the wires, and you still have use of the feet when you want them (they do help to cool the Duo on a flat surface, as well as keeping it from sliding around). I used the above-mentioned computer for several years in that way, and I still use the phone cord even now. -- Marc Sira | [EMAIL PROTECTED] "If you can't play with words, what good are they?" ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
