Actually, yes it is. You have to go to the 8.5 CD "Extras". There you will find all of the desktop patterns included since System 7. Another interesting aside is that the Desktop Patterns control panel from OS 7. still works with OS 9. You can use it to create a desktop pattern in your utilities like the calculator.
