About the only acceptabl solution, performance wise, for using the Duo
as an IP router is to use an Ethernet capable dock, whether it a Newer
Micro Ethernet Dock, or an E-machines Etherdock, or a full size Duo dock
with either built-in Ethernet or a Nubus Ethernet card. Attach the
modem to the serial port as the fastest available internal modem tops
out at 19.2 kbps.

EN/SC is about 1/3 the speed of real Ethernet (there was a macworld
report on this in 1993, damn, forgot the issue) and most EN/SC drivers
are not OT compliant. This is a problem because IPNetRouter requires
OT.

If you are routing cable Internet, or ethernet to ethernet, the only
solution is to use a full size dock with two ethernet intrfaces.

Alex Timbol

"Real isn't how you are made. It's a thing that happens to you. It
doesn't happen all at once. You become. It takes a long time. That's
why it doesn't happen often to those who break easily, have sharp
edges, or have to be carefully kept. Generally, by the time you are
Real, most of your hair has been loved off, and your eyes drop out and
you get loose in your joints and very shabby. But these things don't
matter at all, because once you are Real you can't be ugly, except to
people who don't understand."
