Thanks in advance. >---------- 3 minutes certainly seems excessive. Mine takes about 1.5 minutes. Maybe, to be more specific, time the following periods: from chime to smiling mac, from smiling mac to MAC OS logo, from logo to beginning of the march of extensions, the length of march of extensions, from the end to the march to all Finder stuff being done. The longest time should be the march of extensions (if all extensions load). If other times are too long maybe there is some problem there. See also if there is any extension particular that takes a lot of time to load. I'm not an expert, this is just my 2 cents, maybe good as starting point. There is a lot of hardware checking that goes on before the extensions being to load (Looking for a hard drive, testing memory, whatever). Once the extenions are loaded the Finder does its shenanigans, if there are lots of items in the startup folder you may waste time there. -- ****************************************** * *friends don't send friends vcf files* * ****************************************** ---------- Duo/2400 List, The friendliest place on the Net!
